About this resource

In Lesson 4: Discover the different ways people travel to school across the world.  Reflect on how we have travelled in New Zealand in the past, present and future by creating a montage and recording your thoughts.

Waka Kotahi NZTA talk about what transport may look like in 2053.

Duration 3 min 18sec. CC available.

The ways in which we live and get around go hand in hand. And as our lifestyles change, we need to think about how our transport system changes with them.

With new transport options constantly emerging, growing demands on land and existing infrastructure, and a need to provide a cleaner environment – our transport network has to adapt. No-one wants to be stuck in the past - that’s why Waka Kotahi is already preparing for the decades to come. That means a lot of planning, and some big decisions.

Whether it’s supporting you and your choice of transport, enabling more urban development, or improving existing connections, we’re creating a transport network that’ll serve Aotearoa New Zealand well in the future.
